Songwriter, jazz singer, mom.
The daughter of an Air Force pilot, music served as one of the only constants in young Chloe's life, the hobby gradually blossoming into an obsession by the time she reached her mid-teens.
Her debut solo performance as a 16-year-old singing from the piano drew an encore after what was supposed to be a quick feature during a high-school concert.
Her natural musical proclivity lead her to lead roles in musical theater, marching band, and jazz ensemble.
That exposure to jazz music senior year cemented her pursuing a B.M. in Jazz Studies ('17) at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virgina.
Chloe's skill as a composer-arranger and lyricist received international recognition with her residency at the 2018 Betty Carter Jazz Ahead program located at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., & headed by pianist Jason Moran.
Unable to be confined to one genre or style, her love for singing (and dancing) from the piano has lead her to explore the worlds of jazz, pop, soul, classic rock and bossa nova.
Most notably a solo artist, she's been a frequent collaborator with local Austin leaders such as Andre Hayward (trombone) and Paul Deemer (trombone.)
In a typical week of being mom, private teaching, and performing several times around Austin, Chloe serves as Mozart's Coffee Roasters Music Coordinator and is the third musician to be recognized as the Artist Resident.
Her and drummer Anthony Corsaro make up Duo Nuvole, which has held a Sunday brunch slot at Mozart's without pause since early September 2020, adding their fresh, "never the same way twice" spin on classic hits, American jazz standards, and Chloe's original compositions.
In November of 2020, she released her first studio-recorded and mastered EP, Memoir.
7 original songs and 2 instrumentals give a glance into her lyrical mind and showcase her dominance over melody.
The chatter around Memoir...
"This is a beautiful project. In a world completely distracted by flash, speed & shock value it's refreshingly comforting to hear music that's intended to innocently transport us to a peaceful and safe space. The purity of Chloe's voice delivers these heartfelt lyrics and their underlying message with courage and hope. This is good music."
